For decades, the revered Cuban brand Diplomáticos has held a legendary status among discerning aficionados. Established in the 1960s, this boutique Habanos marque has long been celebrated for its rich, medium-to-full flavour profile. Yet, for an extended period, it remained one of Cuba’s most exclusive secrets, with the iconic No. 2 serving as the solitary resident of its regular-production portfolio.

That disciplined era has recently expanded with the arrival of the Diplomáticos Cancilleres, representing the first permanent addition to the brand’s standard offering in many years. Named after the high diplomatic rank of “Chancellor,” this release marks a significant milestone for collectors.

Crafted by hand using long-filler tobacco exclusively sourced from the Vuelta Abajo region, the Cancilleres maintains the sophisticated complexity associated with the marque. The profile typically opens with notes of cedar and cream, evolving into deeper layers of roasted nuts, leather, and earth.

The Cancilleres is produced in the Centrofinos vitola—a proportioned Robusto measuring 130mm (5⅛ inches) with a 50 ring gauge. The construction features a traditional flat cap rather than a pigtail finish. It offers a balanced smoking duration of approximately 40 to 45 minutes, making it a versatile choice for various times of day.

Presented in a traditional 25-count dressed box, the Cancilleres is a notable addition to the lineage of Cuban cigars.
