The Montecristo No. 2 is one of the most instantly recognisable Cuban cigars on the planet. Its distinctive Piramides design has been much copied but never surpassed. Only Cuba’s very finest and experienced rollers are allowed to roll a Montecristo No. 2.
History
One of Winston Churchill’s favourite cigars, this brand has a rich and distinguished history. The No. 2 is one of the original sizes of the Montecristo brand, which was created in Cuba by Alonso Menendez in 1935.
Due to its long history and popularity, Montecristo is probably the most instantly recognisable brand of Cuban cigars. It’s the yardstick from which all other brands are measured. The name originates from the novel ‘The Count of Montecristo’ by Alexander Dumas.
Tasting notes
This iconic cigar from the House of Montecristo is beautifully shaped with a unique flavour. A Montecristo is created with the perfect mix of strength and flavour in the leaves which are selected from the world renowned Vuelta Abajo region.
This cigar brings powerful flavours such as wood, spice and coffee beans, along with hints of nut, carmel, vanilla and coco. Despite this range of flavours, the cigar is still an easy-smoke and isn’t overwhelming.
