PARTAGÁS CIGARS
The historic Partagás factory is one of the most iconic landmarks in Havana and a must-know name for cigar lovers worldwide. Located at No. 520 Industria Street, just behind the Capitol building, the factory was founded in 1845 by Don Jaime Partagás and remained operational until recent years. While plans are under way to transform the building into a cigar museum, the Partagás shop on the ground floor remains open and is well worth a visit.
Partagás cigars are instantly recognisable for their deep, earthy flavour and full-bodied strength. Their distinctive character comes from carefully selected filler and binder tobaccos grown in the renowned Vuelta Abajo region, widely regarded as the finest tobacco-growing area in Cuba.
The Partagás range offers a wide selection of classic Cuban cigar vitolas, including the Lusitania and the famous 8-9-8, named after its unique box arrangement. The most iconic of all is the Partagás Serie D No.4, a robusto that formed part of the legendary alphabet series dating back to the 1930s.
The portfolio has expanded over time with the introduction of the Serie P No.2 Pirámide in 2005, a favourite among fans of full-flavoured Havanas. In 2011, the Serie D No.5 and the bold Serie E No.2 further extended the range. The most recent addition, the compact Serie D No.6, was launched in 2014, delivering the unmistakable Partagás profile in a shorter format.
