La Gloria Cubana Británicas Extra — Back After a Long Absence
After a long period of unavailability, the exceptionally rare La Gloria Cubana Británicas Extra has returned to The Cigar Club — and we have secured just five boxes.
With only 6,000 numbered boxes of ten produced worldwide, this is one of the most unusual and tightly limited Habanos Regional Editions ever created. Produced exclusively for Great Britain, the Británicas Extra combines an extraordinary vitola, limited production and genuine collector appeal in a cigar that is rarely seen on the market.
The Británicas shape has only rarely appeared in the modern Habanos portfolio. Its most notable previous incarnation was the Bolívar Británicas, the 2012 UK Habanos Regional Edition, which became one of the fastest-selling and most collectable Regional Editions ever released. The La Gloria Cubana Británicas Extra resurrects this remarkable shape, adding a slightly wider girth to create an even more distinctive interpretation.
Handcrafting such an unusual vitola requires exceptional skill, and only Cuba’s most accomplished cigar rollers were entrusted with its production. The result is a beautifully constructed cigar offering a refined, medium-bodied La Gloria Cubana profile, with delicate aromas and the distinctive smoking characteristics of this fascinating format.
The cigar also carries a special La Gloria Cubana band discovered in the archives by Jemma Freeman, Managing Director of Hunters & Frankau, the UK’s long-established sole Havana cigar importer. Its original date of use remains unknown, adding an intriguing piece of history to an already highly unusual release. Beneath it sits the distinctive Edición Regional band bearing “Exclusivo Gran Bretaña”, confirming its exclusive British status.
After such a long period of unavailability, the return of the Británicas Extra is particularly significant. With only five boxes now available from The Cigar Club, this is a rare opportunity to secure one of these highly limited and increasingly sought-after Cuban cigars.
For collectors of unusual Habanos and aficionados who appreciate something genuinely different, the La Gloria Cubana Británicas Extra is a cigar not to overlook — and with only five boxes available, they are unlikely to remain for long.
When you buy a Cuban cigar from The Cigar Club, you are buying into over 50 years of specialist experience. Every cigar we dispatch is carefully checked for quality, and all our Havana cigars bear the EMS (English Market Selection) Stamp of Excellence, providing assurance of both provenance and quality.
