What are Charatan cigars?
“Charatan cigars” is the British name for Nicaraguan cigars. Frederick Charatan opened a tobacconist in London in 1863; Dunhill introduced cigars under the name in the 1990s, and since 2017 the brand has been owned by UK importer Tor Imports, with production at the Joya de Nicaragua factory in Estelí. The blends are still tailored to British tastes- try the Claro Robusto.
Are Charatan cigars suitable for beginners?
Charatan cigars are suitable for beginners. In particular, the Claro line is one of the friendliest cigars we sell: mild, creamy and smooth, without the pepper that catches people out with fuller Nicaraguans. The Claro Half Churchill is a manageable length for a first cigar, or try the Claro Toro if you want longer.
